It is the mission of Saco River Jazz (SRJ) to keep alive the great music of the “Big Band Era,” namely the 1930’s, 40’s, and 50’s, to perform that music in veterans homes, nursing homes, and public venues where this style of music is appreciated, and to provide an outlet for talented student musicians to learn and perform this music in the company of experienced adult musicians, and provide support for school music programs.
